The Galion Tigers’ journey on the tournament trail proved to be a short-lived one Tuesday night at Bucyrus High School.
Norwalk got it done at both ends of the court in impressive fashion to knock Galion out of the Division II tournament in the opening round with a 69-40 win over the Tigers. Galion’s season comes to a close with a mark of 12-11. The Truckers are now 22-1 and move into Friday’s sectional final against Shelby at Bucyrus.
Norwalk’s defense shut out the Tigers in the first period en route to a 19-0 lead and never looked back. Ridge Durbin paced the Tigers’ offense with 16 points. Jeff Thomas of Norwalk scored a game-high of 17 and was backed up by Ben Haraway with 13 points and Grant Hull with 10.
