BUCYRUS — The leadership of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference decided on the membership of the conference during a meeting Wednesday morning.
The result was the N10 remaining at eight members.
During the meeting, the N10-member superintendents unanimously voted to release Ridgedale from league membership following the 2020-21 school year, according to information released by N10 commissioner Mike Reinhart. Ridgedale was accepted into the Northwest Central Conference on Monday during the NWCC’s monthly meeting.
The Rockets were charter members of the N10 in 2014.
N10 president for the 2019-20 year, Mark Robinson, who is superintendent at Buckeye Central Local Schools, thanked Ridgedale for its membership and wished them the best in the NWCC.
After the vote on Ridgedale, the committee of superintendents discussed future memberships in the N10.
It was decided the remaining league members were comfortable with the N10 remaining at eight members for the time being but did not close the possibility of additional members joining in the future.
The superintendents acknowledged Crestline and Willard as making inquiries in October to join the Conference. Crestline currently is a member in the Mid-Buckeye Conference and played a Blanchard Valley Conference football schedule but was not eligible for the conference title. Crestline was a charter member of the N10 in 2014 after being in the North Central Conference from 1990-2014.
Willard is a member of the Sandusky Bay Conference in the Bay Division. Willard joined the SBC after competing in the Northern Ohio League from 1944-2017.
No further action was taken at the meeting.
