The Lady Royals volleyball team tried to help out Carey Tuesday evening, but lost to Mohawk in four sets – 25-23, 20-25, 17-25, 21-25.
The Lady Royals are now 4-9 in N10 play and 6-13 overall. The win lifts the Lady Warriors back into a second-place tie with Carey – both with 10-3 league marks. Mohawk is 14-4 overall.
Tara Zinser knocked down eight kills to lead the Wynford attack while Macey Zinser and Lainey Holman each added six. Tara Zinser also had six blocks.
Top servers for the Lady Royals were Eleni Smock and Macey Zinser with two aces apiece.
Holman came up with 22 digs for the Wynford defense while Jenna Coffman had 18 assists.
Addie Thiery and Madi Chester each had 13 kills for Mohawk. Chester also led her team with three blocks and three aces.
Wynford plays Saturday at home against Seneca East while Mohawk will be in action Thursday at Seneca East.
