The Ohio High School Athletic Association encourages Ohio high schools to take part in a statewide military appreciation night Jan. 19, honoring active and veteran United States Armed Forces members at athletic contests.

Local schools taking part in the evening of events include Crestline and Galion.

At the Crestline boys’ basketball game, all veterans and current service members will receive free admission to the game as well as a free hot dog and water courtesy of the Crestline Athletic Booster Club.  Veterans and current service members will also be recognized at the conclusion of the first quarter of the varsity contest.

At the Galion Lady Tigers home basketball game against Marion Harding, honorees will receive free admission to the game. A ceremony will include all military service members in attendance being recognized prior to tip-off of the varsity game during the National Anthem. Each attendee will receive a pass from the Galion Athletic Booster Club for use at the concession stand.
