Local bowlers finish season at district tournament

ROSSFORD — No local bowlers advanced to the state meet out of the Division II district meet at Interstate Lanes.

Brody Higginbotham of Bucyrus was the highest boys’ finisher at 25^th. Higginbotham rolled a three-game series of 603. Cody Pennington tied for 35^th with a 576 series and Tyson McDaniel was 48^th with 540.

Blake Cooper led Wynford with a 531 series which tied for 51^st. Dawson Lykens tied for 56^th with a 520. Colonel Crawford freshman Luke Shields was 72^nd with 489.

Jacob Sexton of Liberty Center was the top individual with a sparkling 716 series. Coldwater was the top team with an aggregate 4380, including six Baker games. Ottawa-Glandorf (4127) and Liberty Center (4094) also advanced as teams, along with individual qualifiers from Kenton, Minster, and Milan Edison.

Bucyrus (3747) was ninth and Wynford (3586) was 13^th.

Samantha Dornbirer of Wynford was the highest finishing girl from the area, Dornbirer rolled a 480 series, good for 36^th. Teammates Addison Sebring (446) and Kendall Naufzinger (441) were 49^th and 50^th respectively.

Galion’s Tayla Dillard and Madison Enders of Seneca East tied for 55^th with a 431 and Rylee Powers of Bucyrus tied for 57^th with a 430.

Carlee Hohenbrink of Napoleon was the top individual with a 683. Napoleon had the best team aggregate of 4153. Fort Recovery (3567) and St. Mary’s Memorial (3456) were the other teams to qualify for state. Sandusky Perkins (2) and New Bremen added individual qualifiers.
