BUCYRUS — The finals for the 54th Bill Rahm Invitational Bowling Tournament were set with the results of the second weekend of competition.

Mike Lear got through the first two weekends unscathed to come out of the winners’ bracket and will face Don McLaughlin, who survived the losers’ bracket.

On Saturday, McLaughlin defeated Brian Patrick, 905-849, and Lear dropped Joel Butt, 963-873, sending Patrick and Butt to the losers’ bracket.

In the first session of the losers’ bracket, Shawn Ridgeway eliminated defending champion Rick McWaters, 931-850, and Mitch Long knocked Dave Shock from the field, 973-839.

In the second session, Patrick sent Long home, 959-909, and Butt eliminated Ridgeway, 959-894.

On Sunday, in the winners’ bracket final, Lear dropped McLaughlin to the losers’ bracket, 982-855. In the losers’ bracket first session, Butt eliminated Patrick, 934-791. However, McLaughlin then edged Butt, 996-962, in the second session of the losers’ bracket to set up the final with Lear.

The two will roll a four-game series on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the title. If McLaughlin wins that, there will be a one game roll off for the championship.
