BUCYRUS — The second weekend of the 55th Bill Rahm was completed on Sunday at Suburban Lanes and the finalists are set for this Saturday.

In the winners’ bracket on Saturday, Dave Shock got by Jo Metz, 859-760. Mike Lear rolled a 1002 series — including a 300 game — to down Curtis Groves who finished with 872.

In the losers’ bracket, Rick McWaters defeated Joe Powers, 859-781 and Butch Pangallo knocked off Skip Heimlich, 930-790.

Powers and Heimlich were eliminated from the field.

In the second session on Saturday, there were two losers’ bracket matches. Metz slipped past Pangallo, 868-835, and Groves won big over McWaters, 970-702. Pangallo and McWaters were dropped from the field.

In Sunday’s winners’ bracket, Lear defeated Shock, 991-825. In the losers’ bracket, Groves bested Metz, 935-859, dropping Metz from the field.

In the second session losers’ bracket on Sunday, Groves and Shock tied at 891-891, forcing a fifth game roll-off. Groves beat Shock, 244-218, to win the five-game series 1135-1109 and eliminated Shock.

Lear, out of the winners’ bracket, will face Groves, who came out of the losers’ bracket, in the championship on Saturday. If Groves wins the four-game series, a one-game roll-off will decided the champion.

Shock finished third, Metz was fourth, McWaters came in fifth and Pangallo was sixth out of the original 16-man field.

The finals begin at 1 p.m. at Suburban Lanes.
