BUCYRUS — Lakota East took first place in four weight classes and second in two others to lead the Thunderhawks to victory in the Bucyrus Wrestling Invitational at Alex Kish Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday.

Max Boaz won in the 120-pound category, while teammates Cristian Chavez (126), Alex Epstein (138), and Jackson Leahy (145) also won their weight classes. Seconds went to Max Pennix (160) and Tavier Lugo-Flowers (182) for Lakota East, which totaled 181.5 team points.

Team finishes of local interest included Upper Sandusky with 138.5 points, good for third place, Bucyrus (113 points) was seventh and Buckeye Central (38.5) was 12th in the 16-team field.

Upper Sandusky got a first-place finish from Emery Pahl at 132 pounds. Frank Depinett (106) and Gage Ebert (113) took seconds, Garrett Thomas (160) was third and Aiden Gallant (152) and Blake Herbert (195) were fourth-place finishers.

Bucyrus git second place from Austin Fulton (138) and Joey Patterson (195), thirds from Mason Ricker (132) and Bryant Pfeifer (220) and fourths from Garrett Jackson (145), Blake Rittenhour (113) and Noah Parker (126).

Buckeye Central’s highest finishers were both sixth place in their respective divisions: Isaac Krebs at 113 and Davey William at 145.
