With wintery conditions piling up outside, the North Central Conference tipped off its final season of league play under the gym lights of Friday night.

The Colonel Crawford Lady Eagles picked up their first win of the year with a 45-39 victory of the Galion Lady Tigers. Galion was spotted the first 8 points of the game, but a 14-2 run by the Lady Eagles gave them a 4 point lead at the end of the first quarter. Galion hit a buzzer beater to go up 2 on Colonel Crawford at halftime. The lead changed hands three times during the final period, but it was Colonel Crawford going on an 8-0 run at the end of the game that secured the win.

Alexus Burkhart led Colonel Crawford scoring with 13 points, Cassie Sager added 11 points to the Lady Eagles offense.

Galion was led by Raven Crawford who posted 13 points.

The Wynford Lady Royals started the golden anniversary celebration of the school’s basketball program a night early routing The Buckeye Central Buckettes 74-31. Wynford Jumped out to a 19-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and didn’t look back until the final buzzer sounded.

Five Royals scored in double digits with Ellie Richmond, Karlee Schiefer, and Maghan Harrer leading Wynford’s scoring with 16 points each, Beth Delong added 11 points, and Brianna Quinn added 10 points.

Brook Karl led the B.C. with 12 points; Kilee Kimmel added 11 points to the Buckettes offense which had only four other players score in the game.

In other league action the Riverdale Lady Raiders needed an extra quarter to fend off the Bucyrus Lady Redmen 59-56, and the Upper Sandusky Lady Rams beat the Crestline Lady Bulldogs 66-32.
