The Galion Lady Tigers looked to defend their home against Route 61 rivals the Crestline Lady Bulldogs Friday night. When the final whistle blew, they succeeded downing the Lady Bulldogs 43-31.

crestline-vs-galion-13The game started off close with the Lady Tigers leading the Lady Bulldogs by one point after the first quarter 9-8. Galion would extend their lead by six going into the half with a score of 19-13. Crestline kept it within six through three as they trailed the Lady Tigers 27-21. The Lady Bulldogs would close the gap to two points in the fourth quarter when the Lady Tigers pulled away to a 43-31 victory.

Gabby Kaple was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers scoring 14 points in the game, as the Galion Lady Tigers picked up their first win of the season.

Lauren Tadda led the Crestline scorers with 13.

Galion will next travel to Loudonville today.

Up next for the Crestline Girls will be their home opener against Danville on Tuesday, November 29.

In other action around the county River Valley Lady Vikings defeated the Wynford Lady Royals 64-55.

The Royals were led by Gretchen Harris’ game high 24 points, while Sarah Ogden put up 10 points.

River Valley had three players in double digits with Morgan Lott leading the way with 16 points, Jen Lewis added 13 points, and A. Stevens finished with 11.
