At Tuesday’s Division III softball tournament at Bucyrus High School, Willard scored seven times in the top of the tenth inning to come from behind and defeat Bucyrus 14-7.
Bucyrus jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning with Willard tying the game in the third. The Lady Redmen went ahead by two and led by one entering the seventh.
The Crimson Flashes tied the game in the seventh, putting the game into extra innings. Neither team scored in the first two extra innings. Willard scored seven times in the tenth aided by three Bucyrus errors to win their ninth game of the year and advance to Friday’s sectional championship game at Oak Harbor.
Bucyrus had 14 hits in the game with Nicki Tuttle having a double and two singles. Jackie Gabriel and Izzy Burling each doubled and Allyssa Musselman tripled for the Lady Redmen, who are 6-16 on the season.
