The Bucyrus Lady Redmen were knocked out of the Division III state softball tournament yesterday afternoon by Huron 1-0.
Bucyrus’ Toni Zigler and Huron’s Korah Keegan were locked in a classic pitchers duel with Ziegler allowing only seven hits with five strikeouts and Keegan giving up seven hits and striking out four. The only run of the game came in the Tigers’ fifth with Gloria Souter doubling and with two outs and two strikes Nariuma Miyamoto tripling.
Bucyrus stranded eight runners in the game, six in scoring position.
The Lady Redmen are 7-11 on the season.
Huron advances in the tournament and plays Edison on Friday.
