The Colonel Crawford volleyball team managed to do a U-turn in the Lady Eagles’ match at Wynford Tuesday evening in time to go home with a 3-1 win over the Lady Royals. Colonel Crawford’s 18-25, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-21 win gives the Lady Eagles a record of 7-4 in the N10 and 10-6 overall. Wynford is now 4-7 and 6-11.

Samantha Mutchler notched 13 kills and Jenna Siegel added an even dozen for Colonel Crawford. Mutchler and Siegel also led the Colonel Crawford defense at the net with six and four blocks respectively.

Mutchler was also her team’s leader at the service line with three aces while Haily Ratliff and Abbi Teglovic each had two. Karlie Kurtzman had 17 digs in the four-set match and Danielle Horsley had 12 as did Mutchler. Horsley kept the Lady Eagles’ attack going with 29 assists.

volleyball-buckeye-central-vs-wynford-20For Wynford, Tara Zinser was a force at the net with 14 kills and five blocks. Macey Zinser dealt three aces for the Lady Royals’ offense and Eleni Smoock had two more.

Jenna Coffman totaled 20 digs for the evening. She was backed up by 18 from Baily Alspach and 15 each from Smock and Gabby Grove. Coffman was busy passing out 23 assists.

Colonel Crawford will be in action Thursday in North Robinson against Seneca East. Wynford will also be back on the Lady Royals’ home court that same night in an N10 match with Carey.
