Crestline’s defense was flawless behind pitcher Sarah Toy on Wednesday and that was the difference for the Lady Bulldogs in a 3-2 win over Loudonville in Mid-Buckeye Conference play.

All three Crestline runs came in the third inning and all three were unearned thanks to back-to-back infield errors on the Lady Redbirds to open the bottom of the third after Loudonville had taken the lead with a single run in the top of the frame. Three consecutive hits after the errors – a double by Danessa Baker and singles by Sam Wilhite and Desi Naveja allowed the Lady Bulldogs to take full advantage.  Loudonville scored a single run in the fourth, but could get no closer.

Crestline had six hits with Naveja getting two.

Toy went the distance in the pitcher’s circle for her 11th win against three losses. She allowed eight hits and struck out five and walked four.

Crestline is now 6-1 and 11-5. Loudonville is 4-5 and 6-13.
