BUCYRUS — Sixteen bowlers started on opening day of the 54th Bucyrus Ladies Invitational Bowling Tournament Saturday afternoon at Suburban Lanes.
In first-round action, Morgan Swavel defeated Kim Kramer 903-888, Tricia Breighner edged Robin Pangallo 905-901, Carrie Spears and Patricia Horsley tied at 867, with Horsley winning a ninth and tenth frame roll=off, 907-896, and Konda Entenmann downed Charlie Britt 978-963.
Brittany Slagle stopped Catrina Parker 948-927, Heather McLaughlin topped Deb Mason 930-820, Shelly Yancey decisioned Tacsha Ridgeway 876-849, and Michelle Stahl beat Lisa Penwell 837-778.
In Sunday’s second round, in the winners’ bracket, Konda Entenmann slipped past Tricia Breighner 1019-987, Brittany Slagle defeated Michelle Stahl 923-787, Heather McLaughlin topped Shelley Yancy 900-813, and Patricia Horsley got by Morgan Swavel 893-846.
In the losers’ bracket, Charlie Britt dropped Robin Pangallo 971-893, Lisa Penwell defeated Catrina Parker 960-837, Kim Kramer squeezed by Carrie Spears 912-892, and Tacsha Ridgeway got past Deb Mason 944-839.
Falling from the tournament after Sunday were Robin Pangallo, Catrina Parker, Carrie Spears, and Deb Mason.
Losers’ bracket bowlers will resume the tournament on Tuesday. Kramer will face Yancy, Penwell will take on Breighner, Ridgeway will match up with Swavel, and Britt will meet Stahl.
On Saturday, the winners’ bracket bowlers will bowl. Horsley will face Slagle, and McLaughlin takes on Entenmann.
