The Galion Tigers spotted a 28 point lead to Jonathon Alder before getting on the board themselves Friday night, but it proved too little too late as the Pioneers went on to win 43 – 16.
The Tigers pounced on the board 22 seconds into the second quarter when Caleb Ivy connected with Charles Reuer on a 33-yard touchdown pass. The Pioneers blocked the Tigers’ PAT attempt, making the score 28-6.

Galion would strike again with 6:27 to go in the half when Conner Morgan hit a 47-yard field goal to bring the Tigers within 19 at 28-9.
Jamie Dye would extend Jonathan Alder’s lead on a 64-yard touchdown run to put the Pioneers up 35-9. Dye would gain 206 yards on 15 attempts for four touchdowns.
The Tigers added another touchdown with 3:18 to go in the third quarter, but the game was out of reach with the Pioneers holding a 43-16 lead.
The Tigers’ Ivy completed seven of 15 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. On the ground Garrett Kuns scored a touchdown on 12 attempts for 73 yards.
With the loss Galion drops to 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in the MOAC.
The Pioneers will head into week six with a 5-0 record.

After going into the half with a 35-0 lead over Ridgedale, the Crestline Bulldogs added three rushing touchdowns in the second half to win 56-0. With the win the Bulldogs improve to 3-2; Crestline last posted a winning record with the 8-3 2005 Crestline Bulldogs squad.

Buckeye Central gave up 32 points to Upper Sandusky in the first half Friday night. The Bucks’ lone score came on a 32 yard Max Loy to Trenton Langjahr as time expired in the game.
