The Bucyrus Lady Redmen defeated Wynford 44-20 in an emotional game at Bucyrus High School Tuesday night.

The game began with the Lady Redmen hitting the opening tap to senior Torrie Tanner, who was making her first start this season. Tanner passed the ball to senior  Hannah Gulley, who was making the first start of her high school career and then scored the only points of her career. Tanner has missed the season with a back injury while Gulley has been plagued with knee injuries her entire high school career.

On Wynford’s first procession the ball was passed to senior Alyssa Harrer, who has missed the last six games with a broken hand. She then scored possibly the final points of her career.

After a quick timeout to substitute those three players out, both teams had trouble finding any offense with Bucyrus leading 15-10 at the half. The Lady Redmen did find their offense in the second half, scoring 29 points. The offensive flurry was led by Ashton Hawkins, scoring 13 of her game high 16 points including four three pointers.

Bucyrus is 10-10 on the season and finishes 7-8 in the N-10. Wynford is now 7-14 and finishes 4-12 in the league.

Wynford won the JV game 36-23. Wynford’s Grace Schiefer was the only player in double figures with 11.
