The Buckeye Central boys’ basketball team’s next stop is Bowling Green following their 67-60 win last night over Sandusky St. Mary’s Central Catholic. With the district championship the Bucks head to regional play beginning Tuesday night.

Last night’s game saw 5 lead changes in the final period and 10 in the game. After Buckeye Central came from 5 points down to tie the game at 54, the Bucks outscored the Panthers 13-5 over the final 4 minutes to secure their 23rd win of the year.

Cade Kaple led Buckeye Central with 18 points, 8 coming in the final period, Sam Robertson added 13 and Austin Wurm contributed 11 points.

St. Mary’s was led by Melvin Jackson with 23 points and Lucas Will with 10. The Panthers finish the year with a record of 19-7.

Buckeye Central will face Haviland Wayne Trace Tuesday night at 6:15 at Bowling Green State University. You’ll be able to hear the contest on Q92 radio and at wqel-dot-com.
