Lightning delays, rain, mud, a homecoming, and an undefeated team highlighted the sixth week of Friday night under the lights.
After lightning delayed the game by 50 minutes, Galion carried their undefeated record into Buckeye Central and exited unscathed blanking the Bucks 46-0.
Quarterback Dareian Watkins led the Tigers offensive attack going 12-22 for 247 yards and three touchdowns, Watkins also led Tigers on the ground with 10 attempts for 81 yards and another score. Alex Armistad led Galion receivers with 7 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
Buckeye Central’s offense was anemic against the Tigers’ defense amassing 61 total yards. Cody Roberts led the Bucks rushing attack carrying the ball 10 times for 51 yards. Freshman quarterback Tyler Trapp continued his learning experience on the gridiron completing 3 passes on 7 attempts for a yard.
Colonel Crawford improved to 5-1 on the year beating Bucyrus 20-10.
Nate Klingenburger led the Eagles through the air as well as on the ground throwing 10-11 for 94 yards and a score. On the ground Klingenburger carried the pigskin 26 times for 114 yards and another score. Nick Adams led Eagles receivers with 2 receptions for 36 yards.
Cole Murdiff led the Redmen in the air completing 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. Colin Light led Bucyrus on the ground rushing 6 times for 62 yards. Tyler Zehring led the Redmen receivers in yards with 54 yards on 2 receptions.
Riverdale didn’t get the memo that it was Crestline’s homecoming game Friday beating the Bulldogs 48-24.
Quarterback Lee Hurst led the Bulldogs in passing and rushing, carrying the ball 12 times for 155 yards and a touchdown, and throwing 7 completions on 17 attempts for 83 yards and another score. Michael Forwith rushed the ball 17 times for 147 yards. Forwith also led Bulldogs receivers with one reception for 39 yards.
The Wynford Royals dropped to a 3-3 record losing to their other rivals up the road Upper Sandusky 26-0.
Quarterback Brock Williamson went 4-13 for 49 yards in the Royals’ passing game. Cory Brown led the Royals rushing game with 9 carries for 33 yards. Keyton Teynor caught one reception for 26 yards to lead Royals receivers.
