The Galion Tigers swam against the Mansfield Madison Rams at the Galion YMCA on Thursday, January 28, 2016. The Lady Tigers won a hard fought 48-45 victory while the Tiger Men’s team won 67-27. The Lady Tigers brought their season record 4-5 and the men’s team is 7-2.
Bri Wallis was a double winner in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyles. Both times were season best 2:16.71 (200 free) and 1:00.81 (100 free). Allison DeNero was a double winner in the 200 IM and 100 yard. butterfly. Sari Conner won the 500 freestyle and 100 yd. breast stroke. Her 500 free was a season best with a time of 6:24.47 while the 100 breast was a season best 1:25.35. Ashleigh Wright won the 100 yard backstroke with a season best of 1:20.05. Elise Barnhart won the 50 freestyle. The Lady Tigers won 10 of the 11 events.
The men’s Tiger team won 10 of the 11 events. Sam Rigdon won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle events. Eli Skaggs was a double winner in the 50 free and 100 butterfly. Clay Karnes won the 500 yd freestyle event with a season best of 5:31.28. Clay was second in the 100 yard. butterfly. Landon Rose won the 200 yd freestyle event and was second in the 100 yd backstroke with a season best time of 1:07.47. Luke Eisenaugle won the 100 yd. backstroke and was second in the 100 yard breast stroke. Lucas Conner was second in the 500 yard. freestyle. Weston Rose placed 2nd in the 200 freestyle with a season best time 2:18.14 and placed 3rd in the 100 freestyle in a season best time of 1:00.35. Gideon Johnson swam a season best in the 100 breast stroke in 1:22.13 and placed 3rd.
