Galion boys defeated Ontario 73-21 and Ontario girls dropped Galion, 68-26, in a dual swim meet at Galion YMCA. It was Galion’s boys’ 21st straight dual meet victory.
The Tigers won the 200 Yard Medley in the boys’ victory. The team of Caleb Strack, Luke Eisenaugle, Clay Karnes and Sam Rigdon finished in 1:49.34. Galion also took third in the event.
Galion swept the 50 Yard Freestyle with Chris Amick (28.39) finishing first, Wyatt Enders (29.16) second and Drew Owen (32.18) third.
Carnes (2:01.69) and Weston Rose (2:04.99) came in 1-2 in the 200 Yard Freestyle while Rigdon (2:16.62) and Eisenaugle (2:21.39) did the same in the 200 Yard Individual Medley.
Rigdon (1:01.65) and Alex Dicus (1:03.78) did likewise in the 100 Yard Butterfly as did Strack (54.87) and Rose (56.30) in the 100 Yard Freestyle, Dicus (5:21.43) and Karnes (5:29.33) in the 500 Yard Freestyle, Eisenaugle (1:12.56) and Braxton Tate (1:16.01) in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and Amick (1:06.56) and Enders (1:10.00) in the 100 Yard Freestyle).
Ben Altstadt, Strack, Rigdon and Karnes won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:37.75. Isaac Niedermier, Tate, Dicus and Rose also finished second. Rose, Dicus, Altstadt and Eisenaugle (3:45.09) won the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Allison DeNero got the only first for the Lady Tigers, that in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, with a 2:34.73. DeNero also finished second in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:11.34) and was part of two second-place finishes — the 200 Yard Medley (2:13.99) along with Ashleigh Wright, Sari Conner, and Elise Barnhart and the 300 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:58.39) along with Conner, Barnhart and Danielle Schneider.
Conner had a second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:32.32), Schneider was second in the 500 Yard Freestyle (7:22.72) and Conner was second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:28.57).
The Tigers next meet is Thursday at Friendly House beginning at 5:30 p.m.
