The Galion High School Men’s team traveled to Canton McKinley High School for the State Meet on Thursday, February 23. 2017.
The five members swam to a season best time of 1:42.76 in the 200 Medley Relay. Team members Caleb Strack swam backstroke, Sam Rigdon swam breaststroke, Clay Karnes swam butterfly, and Eli Skaggs swam freestyle. The team placed 22nd in the State Meet.
The 200 Free Relay team placed 20th with 1:31.51. Those members were Eli Skaggs, Landon Rose, Clay Karnes, and Sam Rigdon.
Eli Skaggs swam to a 22nd place finish in the 100 free in 49.02.
“I was proud to see that the team made the meet. They represent one of the best teams in the State of Ohio. Three of the five members return next year with current team members ready to fill the two remaining spots,” Galion Coach Ted Temple said. “(I am) Looking forward to returning next February.”
