MARION — Galion made a strong showing in this week’s Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships held at Harding Stadium Tuesday and Thursday.

The Tiger boys finished second behind Ontario, 147-128. The girls squad finished third with 104 points, behind Shelby (135) and Ontario (118).

Miranda Stone set an MOAC record with a 137-feet, 10-inch effort in the discus throw. She beat the previous record of 132-feet, 3-inches.

Stone also won the shot put with a throw of 39-feet, 5-inches.

Other double winners include:

  • Linkon Tyrrell first in the 110-meter hurdles (14.95) and the 300-meter hurdles (42.52).
  • Jacob Chambers first in the 100-meter dash (10.85) and the 200-meter dash (23.27). He also took second in the boys long jump and placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (56.98).

Other Galion placers:

  • Zach Sallee won the boys 400-meter dash and took second in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash.
  • Girls 4X800 meter relay of Nora Harding, Makenzie Halbisen, Raygann Campbell, and Makayla Halbisen took first place.
  • Girls 4X100 meter relay of Mia Felder, Ashley Dyer, Destiny Harney, and Kalynne Butterfield took second place.
  • Girls 4X100 meter relay took second in 53.77.
  • Boys 4X100 meter relay took second in 46.43.
  • Felder claimed second in the girls 100-meter hurdles in 17.30 and was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.
  • Kalynne Butterfield placed second in the girls long jump, as did Isaiah North in the boys high jump.
  • Holden Hunter was third in the boys shot put.
  • Campbell came in third in the girls 3200-meter run (11:47.21).
