GALION — The Bucyrus tennis team dropped a 3-2 decision to Galion at Heise Park on Monday.
In second singles, Addy Young defeated the Tigers’ Hannah Nelson, 6-0, 6-0. The other win for the Lady Red came in third singles when Adalyn Zornes topped Allyssa Woodmansee, 6-0, 6-1.
Galion’s Emma Ross blanked Hannah Scott, 6-0, 6-0 in first singles.
Bucyrus (0-3) dropped both doubles matches. Natalie Hankins and Emma Graves were shut out, 0-6, 0-6, in first doubles. Layla Swerlein and Lady Faye McCoy forced three sets before falling in second doubles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
The Lady Red swept the junior varsity matches, with Isabel Johnson, Lilian Engelhorn, and Mya Rothhaar winning in singles and Ella Green and Addie Weber taking the doubles match.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday. Bucyrus hosts River Valley and Galion entertains Upper Sandusky.
