BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — After a second week of bowling, the 58th Ladies Invitational Tournament field has been reduced to four bowlers.
In losers’ bracket action on Tuesday, Charlie Britt took down Cynthia Hester, 933-809. Carolyn Kindred edged Emily Groves, 826-820, Morgan Swavel downed Robin Pangallo, 929-783, and Terri Bonham topped Patricia Horsley, 847-768.
Hester, Groves, Pangallo, and Horsley were eliminated, reducing the field to eight bowlers.
On Saturday in the winners’ bracket, Heather McLaughlin defeated Abby Gledhill, 969-889, and Schelby Gabel topped Catrina Parker, 939-818.
In the losers’ bracket, Bonham slipped past Swavel, 889-848 and Britt was 51 pins better than Kindred, 934-883. Swavel and Kindred dropped from the field.
On Sunday, in the losers’ bracket, Britt squeaked past Gledhill, 932-921 and Bonham defeated Parker, 935-782, putting Gledhill and Parker out of the tournament.
The remaining four bowlers will face off on Tuesday. McLaughlin will take on Gabel in the winners’ bracket and Britt takes on Bonham in the losers’ bracket.
The two survivors will bowl in the finals on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Suburban Lanes for the championship.
