BUCYRUS — The field for the 55th Ladies Invitational bowling tournament was reduced to four over the weekend.
In winners’ bracket action on Saturday, Shelley Yancey defeated Tacsha Ridgeway, 964-919. In the second match, Morgan Swavel dropped Heather McLaughlin, 1024-909.
In the losers’ bracket, Emily Groves edged Charlie Britt, 961-951, eliminating Britt. In Match 2, Robin Pangallo got by Shelby Gabel, 949-905, dropping Gabel from the field.
Sunday’s matches were both in the losers’ bracket. Groves squeaked by McLaughlin, 908-902, aided by a 7-10 split in the 10th frame of the fourth game. McLaughlin exits the field.
In the second match, Pangallo tripped Ridgeway, 933-843, to eliminate Ridgeway.
Tournament action will resume Tuesday when Swavel will face Yancey in the winners’ bracket and Groves will take on Pangallo in the losers’ bracket.
On Wednesday, the loser of the winners’ bracket will tangle with the winner of the losers’ bracket. That winner will face the winners’ bracket champion on Saturday in the final.
