BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — The finalists are set for the 59th Bill Rahm Invitational Bowling Tournament.

Joel Butt survived two weekends of bowling to come out of the winners’ bracket unscathed. He will face off with losers’ bracket champion Brock Lykens on Saturday.

This past weekend’s action pared the field from eight survivors of the first weekend to the final two.

In the winners’ bracket on Saturday, Lykens defeated Joe Powers, 923-805, bumping Powers to the losers’ bracket. Mike Lear lost by forfeit to Butt.

In the losers’ bracket, Mitch Long topped Bob Lear, Jr., 893-785 and Shawn Ridgeway got past Brayden Bruner, 903-779. Lear and Bruner were eliminated from the field.

Mike Lear again had to forfeit, in the second session, to Ridgeway, who rolled an 805. Long dropped Powers from the tournament, 968-837.

On Sunday in the winners’ bracket, Butt was 105 pins better than Lykens, 924-819, dropping Lykens to the losers’ bracket.

In the first session of the losers’ bracket, Ridgeway slipped by Long, 950-934. In the second session, Ridgeway took on Lykens for a spot in the finals. Lykens edged Ridgeway, 903-897, for the spot in the finals.

The finals format is a four-game scratch series. If the losers’ bracket representative wins that, there will be a one game roll off for the title.

Start time for the finals is 1 p.m. at Suburban Lanes.
