BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — The field of the 57th annual Bucyrus Ladies Invitational was reduced from 16 to 12. The first weekend of bowling at Suburban Lanes dropped four bowlers from the tournament.
In Saturday’s first round, Michelle Stahl got by Abby Gledhill, 934-919. Heather McLaughlin topped Tricia Perry, 1023-874, Kathy Eimer was 26 pins better than Lisa Penwell, 882-856, and Tascha Ridgeway downed Gloria Huber, 969-895.
Patricia Horsley rolled the high series of the day to defeat Deb Mason, 1033-842. Charlie Britt edged Terri Bonham 889-885, Emily Groves was an even 100 better than Robin Pangallo, 978-878, and Carolyn Hendrickson dropped Cynthia Hester, 926-822.
On Sunday, in the winners’ bracket, Britt slipped past Eimer, 879-869. Hendrickson beat Groves, 898-802, Horsley edged Ridgeway, 941-934, and Stahl squeaked past McLaughlin, 932-930.
In the losers’ bracket, Huber defeated Mason, 871-805. Bonham swept past Penwell, 983-849, Perry beat Gledhill, 957-909, and Pangallo topped Hester, 946-886.
Mason, Penwell, Gledhill, and Hester were eliminated from the tournament.
Four more losers’ bracket matches will take place on Tuesday. Huber takes on Eimer, Pangallo tangles with McLaughlin, Bonham takes on Ridgeway, and Perry faces Groves, all back at Suburban Lanes.
