BUCYRUS — The field for Bucyrus Ladies Invitational Bowling Tournament was thinned to four over the weekend.
On Saturday, Deb Mason defeated Emily groves, 868-831 in the first match of the winners’ bracket. Charlie Britt then downed Tascha Ridgeway, 965-899 in the second match.
In the losers’ bracket, Cynthia Hester edged Lisa Penwell, 862-854 in Match 1 and Deb Higginbotham topped Morgan Swavel, 911-794. Penwell and Swavel were eliminated from the tournament.
On Sunday in another losers’ bracket session, Groves rolled past Hester, 980-897 and Ridgeway was 44 pins better than Higginbotham, 978-934. Hester and Higginbotham dropped from the field.
The tournament resumes on Tuesday. Mason will bowl Britt in the winners’ bracket and Groves takes on Ridgeway in the losers’ bracket.
The finals will be set on Wednesday when the loser of Tuesday’s winners’ bracket match meets the winner of the losers’ bracket match.
The finals will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Suburban Lanes.
