The bird was the word in North Robinson Saturday night as the Colonel Crawford Eagles downed the Ayersville Pilots 42-10.
Ayersville started the scoring jumping out to a 10-7 lead at the end of the first. From that point on it was all Colonel Crawford as they outscored the Pilots 35-0 over the next three quarters to advance in the playoffs.
Will Kirkpatrick was responsible for all six of Colonel Crawford’s touchdowns as he ran for four TD’s and threw for two more. Kirkpatrick was five of 12 passing for 163 yards and one interception to go with his two touchdowns. On the ground Kirkpatrick added 101 yards. Blake Triesh led the Eagles on the ground carrying the rock 14 times for 152 yards. Triesh also had one reception for 12 yards and a touchdown with eight seconds to go in the first half which opened the scoring deluge.
The Crawford defense stymied Ayersville, which featured two 1,000 yard backs during the regular season. The Eagles D held Dauson Dales to 66 yards, and season leading rusher Hunter Stark to 14 yards.
Colonel Crawford will play Tinora in the next round of the playoffs next Saturday.

The Wynford Royals saw their season end at the hands of the Delta Panthers Saturday night by a score of 21-14.
Wynford opened the scoring of the game with an 11 play, 68-yard drive that culminated in Zach Hoffman scoring from 13 yards out. A two-point conversion would give Wynford an 8-0 lead with 5:59 to go in the first. After spotting the Royals the lead Delta would score a touchdown in the second, third, and fourth quarters to jump out to a 21-8 lead with 8:32 to go in the game. Wynford would bring the game within a touchdown with 6:49 to go in the game on another score by Hoffman, however clock management sealed the Royals fate as they couldn’t convert their final drive into a score.
Wynford Quarterback Zach Hoffman led the Royals on the ground with 163 yards on 25 attempts for 163 yards and the team’s only two scores. Hoffman also wnet 7 of 12 passing for 84 yards.
Jesse Beverly led the Delta Panthers on the ground with 182 yards on 31 attempts and two touchdowns.
Wynford finishes their season with a 9-2 record.
