The tournament trail for both Colonel Crawford and Wynford came to an end last night at Willard High School. The Eagles fell to Sandusky St. Mary’s 48-42 while the Royals were ousted by St. Peter’s 72-59.
In the first game of the night, Colonel Crawford and the Panthers were tied at 28 at the half, but the St. Mary’s defense held the Eagles to just three points over a 10-minute stretch to start the second half while building a double-digit lead.
The Colonel Crawford rally fell short as the Eagle season ended with a record of 16-8. Colonel Crawford scoring was led by Owen Adams with 18 points and Derek Burkhart added 15.
The second game saw St. Peters go on a 13-0 run to break open a close game and eliminate Wynford from the tournament and finish their season at 15-10.
The Royals were led in scoring by Jack Reed with 26 points and Alex Crall with 10.
St. Mary’s will face St. Peter’s for the district championship Friday night at 7 at Willard High School.
