It was a matchup of down the road rivals in the NCC on the Friday before Christmas, including a matchup of two undefeated teams.
The 5-0 Buckeye Central Bucks traveled down 602 to the Eagles Nest at Colonel Crawford to take on the 6-0 Colonel Crawford Eagles. Colonel Crawford started fast out of the gates never trailing in the game beating B.C. 60-48 to improve to 7-0 on the season.
Connor McCreary led Colonel Crawford with 20 points with 4 three pointers. McCreary scored his 1,000 career point on a three with 2:54 left in the third period becoming the seventh Eagle player to reach the thousand point mark.
Logan Sager was second in Eagles scoring with 17 points with 9 points coming from behind the arc.
Buckeye Central, who dropped to 5-1, was led by Cade Kaple’s 20 point performance. Austin Wurm scored the second most for the Bucks with 11.
The 2-3 Crestline Bulldogs traveled down Route 61 to Galion Friday to take on the 1-3 Galion Tigers.
The Bulldogs kept it close in the first half tying the game at 20 a piece in the second quarter, but the Tigers roared back dismantling Crestline 79-40.
Dariean Watkins led the Tigers with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Houston Blair contributed to the Tigers’ game with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Crestline’s Brian Hunger led all scorers in the game scoring 20 points.
With the win Galion improves to 2-3 on the year, while Crestline falls to 2-4.
In other action in the county Bucyrus lost to Route 30 rivals Wynford 55-42.
