1. Wynford (5-2): The Royals stay atop the rankings this week despite dropping a tough 28-16 decision at Lima Central Catholic. Despite the loss, Wynford holds the third spot in Division V1, Region 22. This week’s game at home against undefeated Seneca East will all but decide the Northern 10 Conference and likely guarantees a home playoff game for the winner.
2. Galion (4-3): The Tigers are in the meat of their Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference schedule and are finding the sledding tough. Galion has lost three of its last four games, including a 41-0 shutout last week to state-ranked Clear Fork. The Tigers will look to stop the bleeding this week at North Union.
3. Colonel Crawford (3-4): The Eagles took care of business with a 49-15 drubbing of Cardinal Stritch in Oregon on Saturday. Colonel Crawford will host 6-1 Lucas — second in Division VII, Region 27 — on Friday. A win would go a long way to salvaging the Eagles’ season.
4. Crestline (3-4): The Bulldogs felt the brunt of Lucas’ playoff march, 53-8, last week. Crestline hosts winless Toledo Christian this week and could vastly improve its chances of finishing its season .500 or better.
5. Bucyrus (1-6): The Redmen squandered multiple chances in the red zone in dropping a disappointing 20-14 N10 game to Upper Sandusky. Bucyrus travels to 5-2 Mohawk Friday with the Warriors needing to win out to have a chance at the post-season.
6. Buckeye Central (0-7): The Bucks absorbed a 45-0 N10 whitewashing at Carey last week. Buckeye Central stands perhaps its last best chance for victory on the season with a trip to 2-5 Upper Sandusky on Friday.
