1. Wynford (4-1): The Royals passed the first of several tests with a 37-20 win over previously undefeated Carey. Wynford now sits second in Division VI, Region 22 for the playoffs. The Royals travel to 5-0 Mohawk Friday in their quest to stay atop the Northern 10 Conference.
2. Galion (4-1): The Tigers rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 42-35 win over River Valley. Galion moved into the seventh spot in Division IV, Region 14 for the playoffs. The Tigers face Division II Marion Harding Friday, a pivotal game for both in both the post-season picture as well as the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference race.
3. Colonel Crawford (1-4): The Eagles could not hold an early lead and fell to Seneca East (4-0) in overtime. The season has not gone as envisioned by Coach Ryan Teglovic. But Colonel Crawford sports the leading rusher in the N10 in Trevor Shawber, who has over 700 yards on the ground. The Eagles will be playing at Bucyrus, which is last in the league in rushing defense.
4. Crestline (3-2): The Bulldogs continue to play solid football. They make a long road trip to Corning Miller (3-2) on Saturday. A win could make Crestline’s season.
5. Bucyrus (1-4): The Redmen finally got into the win column with a 36-34 victory at Buckeye Central. Kyle Hamm kicked an improbable 33-yard field goal with one second left to pull it out for Bucyrus. If the Redmen are going to feed off that momentum, they will have to find a way to slow down Colonel Crawford’s running game.
6. Buckeye Central (0-5): The Bucks lost a heartbreaker to Bucyrus on Friday to remain winless on the season. Buckeye Central hosts 0-5 Sandusky St. Mary Friday, searching for that elusive first victory.
