BUCYRUS — The first two Crawford County Athletes of the Week presented by River’s Edge Embroidery, Screen Printing and Signs have been selected by the fans after a week of receiving nominations.

The first boys athlete of the week was awarded to Zane Seybert, a senior on the Bucyrus High School boys’ basketball team.

Seybert was nominated for when, “he came off the bench during his very first varsity basketball game of his senior year (Nov. 30) with 8 points against Galion. He then came off the bench Saturday (Dec. 1) against Willard scoring 6.”

The girls athlete of the week was awarded to Wynford’s Lyndie Williams, a sophomore on the Wynford girls’ basketball team.

Williams was nominated for her performance as the Royals snapped a losing streak versus Riverdale. Williams, “made three 3-point baskets in the game against Riverdale, including two back-to-back to put the Royals ahead by double-digits. She finished tied for the game-high point total with 15.”

For their accomplishments, Seybert and Williams will receive a t-shirt and a certificate from River’s Edge Embroidery, Screen Printing and Signs and Crawford County Now.
