BUCYRUS — The Crawford County Now Athletes of the Week presented by River’s Edge Embroidery, Screen Printing and Signs have been selected for Jan. 21-26, 2019.

For the first time, athlete of the week honors will be awarded for work done in the pool and, also for the first time, it will be awarded to multiple people. The girl athlete award will go to a player on a team used to receiving accolades.

The boys’ athlete of the week is awarded to Wynford swimmers Zoltan Feldman, Levi Hartschuh, Chase Easterday and Clay Easterday for their performances at the Nort Central Ohio Swim League Meet.

Feldman, a senior; Hartschuh, a sophomore; Chase Easterday and Clay Easterday, both freshmen led the Royals as the Wynford boys swim team finished third in the meet.

All four were members of the fourth-place 400 free relay and fifth-place 200 free relay teams. In the 400, the team dropped nine seconds off its best time. The swimmers placed in various individual events as well.

This week’s girl athlete honoree is Buckeye Central’s Taylor Ratliff of the Buckettes’ girls basketball team.

Ratliff scored 14 points, double her season average, in the Buckettes’ win against Upper Sandusky in N10 action.

Ratliff’s 14 points tied for a team-high total on the evening when Buckeye Central got a top effort from the Rams who gave the Buckette’s one of their most competitive games of the season.

Congratulations to all the honorees this week.
