BUCYRUS — The Crawford County Now Athletes of the Week presented by River’s Edge Embroidery, Screen Printing and Signs have been selected by the fans for Dec. 31, 2018 – Jan. 5, 2019.
This week’s awards recognize two upperclassmen who are no strangers to success on the court.
The girl athlete honoree is Buckeye Central girls’ basketball senior Courtney Pifher.
Pifher found success during the Buckettes’ 68-28 rout of Bucyrus in Northern 10 play on Jan. 5. She completed a double-double stat line, finishing with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
On the boys’ side, Colonel Crawford’s Gavin Feichtner is the newest athlete of the week.
In a game versus Ridgedale on Jan. 4, Feichtner finished with a team-high 26 points, well above is 15 points-per-game average, as well as 6 rebounds and 7 assists.
The junior also had two 3-point baskets in the 71-48 win.
