Crawford County’s top high school athletes in spring sports for 2014 were recognized and honored Tuesday evening.
The top athletes as chosen by the WBCO/WQEL Sports Department in the sports of baseball, softball, boys tennis and boys and girls track, along with their parents and coaches were treated to dinner at the Bucyrus Community Hospital. The event was co-sponsored by the radio station and Spreng Capital Management.
In addition to the top athletes being named All-County All-Stars and receiving a plaque and sweatshirt, coaches of the year in each sport were also named. A photo gallery of Tuesday’s event is on the Photo page.
Spring 2014 All-County All-Stars
Baseball – Matt Amicone, Bucyrus; Nick Flowers, Galion; Austin Lutz, Buckeye Central; Austin Norwood, Crestline; Eric Powell, Galion. Coach of the Year – Phil Jackson, Galion.
Softball – Callie Bauer, Galion; Kelsey Redden, Wynford; Taylor Rossman, Bucyrus; Macey Sheerer, Bucyrus; Morgan Wurm, Buckeye Central. Coach of the Year – Jerry Hargis, Bucyrus.
Boys Tennis – Dalon King, Bucyrus; Sam Maddox, Galion; Mark Musick, Bucyrus; J.D. Smith, Galion. Coach of the Year – John Supon, Bucyrus.
Boys Track – Alex Armistad, Galion, Hobie Cotsamire, Bucyrus; Cole Fortner, Wynford; Darien Hedges, Bucyrus; Clay Martin, Colonel Crawford. Coach of the Year – Preston Foy, Colonel Crawford.
Girls Track – Brittany Parsell, Bucyrus; Brenna Quinn, Wynford; Ellie Richmond, Wynford; Chelsea Webster, Colonel Crawford; Addie Zeisler, Galion. Coach of the Year – Colby Bright and Todd Roston, Galion.
