COLUMBUS — Area teams were well represented at the state track meet on Friday and Saturday.

In Division III, Colonel Crawford’s Chad Johnson defended his state title in the boys’ 3200-meter run with a time of 9:05.43 to set a Division III record.

The Eagles 4X800 meter relay team of Cody Reed, Braxton James, Brody Martin and Chad Johnson made the podium by finishing seventh with a time of 8:07.68.

Alizhah Watson of Wynford came in sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.83 as the Royals’ only representative at the state meet. Colonel Crawford’s Drew Krassow just missed a spot on the podium with a ninth-place finish jump of 5-02.00.

Morgan England of Seneca East was second in the pole vault with a vault of 12-00.00.

In Division II, Marisa Gwinner of Galion took second in the girls’ high jump with a leap of 5-07.00. Briana Streib scored points for the Tigers in the discus with a throw of 135-08.

Kerrigan Myers of Galion finished sixth in girls’ 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.77. The Tigers’ 4X100 meter relay team of Jalyn Oswald, Kerrigan Myers, Brooklyn Cosey and Marisa Gwinner finished seventh with a time of 49.72.

Galion girls finished 11th as a team out of 75 teams scoring points and Colonel Crawford boys came in 15th of 72 teams registering at least one point.
