It was a banner day on Saturday for Colonel Crawford harriers as they dominated the Crawford County Classic cross country meet at Amann’s Reservoir.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams had no trouble taking home the top hardware from the day when the first three runners into the chute were wearing black and gold in each of the varsity races.
Anna Reffey won the individual title for the girls with a time of 20:11.26. She was followed by teammates Emily Kemper and Courtney Britt. Rounding out the top five for the girls were Julia VanVoorhis of Bucyrus and Sari Connor of Galion.
The Lady Eagles totaled 24 points in team scoring while Galion had 58 and Bucyrus finished with 61.
When it was the boys’ turn, the Eagles’ Chad Johnson continued his outstanding season with a time 15:26.85, more than a full minute ahead of the field. Next to the finish line were Colonel Crawford’s Brad Bauer and Nick Studer. Carson Pirnstill of Bucyrus was fourth and Wade Hopkins of Colonel Crawford was fifth.
Team totals were 26 for Colonel Crawford, 56 for runner-up Bucyrus and 57 for Galion.
