ATTICA — Evan Schiefer knows his home course well.

The Seneca East senior captured first place in the boys division of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference meet here Saturday morning. Schiefer clocked a 15:40.91 to defeat Mohawk’s Brayden Cleveland at 16:13.17.

The Colonel Crawford boys defeated both schools to take first place team honors.

Adam Scott’s time of 16:16.26 led the way for the Eagles, placing third. Junior Shawn Auck took fifth in 16:39.70, ahead of teammate Braeden Grau (sixth) at 17:12.56.

Schiefer and Auck both qualified for the state cross country championship last season.

Karter Boggs of Bucyrus finished fourth in 16:31.54.

Hope Morris of Upper Sandusky led her team to a first-place finish with a personal time of 19:48.17. She downed Carey’s Chloe Etzinger, who ran 20:06.69, to take second.

Buckeye Central senior Nevaeh Metzger was the top Crawford County girl, placing fifth in 21:25.65. Another Buckette, Angela Figueroa, took seventh in 21:43.99.

Bucyrus’ Madalyn Weiler placed 10th, clocking in at 22:09.55.

MOAC championship

MARION — Ontario captured the boys title and Shelby took the girls crown in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference meet at Harding High School Saturday.

Galion boys took sixth place, with Anthony Ferini placing eighth in 17:32.69.

Galion girls finished second.

Galion’s Makayla Halbisen took home third place, running 19:39.08. Her sister, Makenzie Halbisen, was seventh in 20:39.99.

The Tigers’ Alayna Griffith ran eighth in 20:45.89. River Valley’s Erica Mason was sixth, hitting the finish line in 20:31.16.

KMAC championship

FREDERICKTOWN — Mount Gilead swept the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference meet at Kokosing Dam on Saturday.

The boys squad beat the host Freddies, 23-48.

Northmor finished third with 108 points, followed by East Knox, Centerburg, Cardington, and Loudonville.

On the girls side, the Lady Indians edged the Lady Knights 54-57.

Fredericktown was third at 62, with Cardington, Centerburg and Loudonville rounding out the field.

No individual times were posted.
