TIFFIN — Fort Obetz will welcome a handful of local runners at Saturday’s state cross country championship. Runners qualified at the regional meets at Hedges Boyer Park Saturday morning.
Division III
Colonel Crawford’s boys team made it with a fourth-place finish with 170 points, trailing Columbus Grove, Crestview, and Ottawa Hills.
Bucyrus’ Karter Boggs finished 11th, with a time of 16:20.60. The Redmen were 20th as a team.
Also making it to state is Evan Schiefer of Seneca East, who took fifth in 16:05.91.
Brayden Cleveland of Mohawk took sixth place to qualify. His time was 16:09.02.
Adam Scott took 18th in 16:24.34 and Colonel Crawford teammate Shawn Auck ran 16:25.81, which was 21st.
Buckeye Central’s Angela Figueroa was 63rd and teammate Nevaeh Metzger 83rd.
Mohawk’s Addison Horner came in 70th.
Division II
Galion’s Makayla Halbisen was eighth, hitting the tape in 18:57.42. That set a new school record.
In Divisions I and II, the top six teams and top 24 individuals qualify for state. In Division III, the top five teams and top 20 individuals advance.
