BUCYRUS (Crawford County Now) — Joel Butt made his first finals appearance count.
Butt defeated losers’ bracket champion Brock Lykens, 837-697, in four games. Butt went through the tournament unscathed in coming out of the winners’ bracket to win the 59th Bill Rahm Invitational Tournament at Suburban Lanes.
After qualifying for the field for 13 years and rolling 23 perfect games, Butt reached the pinnacle.
With games of 235, 198, 200, and 214, Butt held off Lykens who had games of 168, 181, 178, and 170, well below his tournament average coming in.
Lykens was making his second straight finals appearance, finishing runner-up in 2024 as well.
