Bucyrus High School and head football coach Aaron Eckert hosted a weight lifting competition on Saturday, January 27.
Bucyrus won the meet with a total of 11,080 pounds lifted. The total weight is calculated by taking the four strongest heavy weights, middle weights and light weights (12 total lifters) from each school.
Northmor finished second while Colonel Crawford came in third. South Central won the girls’ title with Northmor finishing as runners-up. Fifteen schools participated.
Overall meet winner was Dylan Knisley from Colonel Crawford with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 6.51. Bucyrus’ Andrew Pifer finished second with a BMI of 6.31.
The girls’ winner was Samantha Jayes of South Central with a BMI of 5.45.
