BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Lady Red tennis team dropped its season-opening match versus visiting Tiffin Columbian, 4-1, Wednesday morning.
Lady Red’s only win came at second singles, where Addy Young defeated Columbian’s Elise Johnston, 3-6, 6-3, 10-3.
The Tornadoes’ Leah Weingart defeated Hannah Scott, 6-3, 6-1 in first singles. Leah Wahl dropped Adalyn Zornes, 6-1, 6-3 in third singles.
In first doubles, Columbian’s Paris Salyer and Elise Fruth blanked Natalie Hankins and Emma Graves, 6-0, 6-0. In second doubles, Alyssandra Ward and Kylee Oyster got past Lady Faye McCoy and Layla Swerlein, 6-0, 6-2.
Bucyrus travels to Sandusky Perkins on Friday. Columbian will be at Vermilion on Monday.
