GALION — The Bucyrus tennis team improved to 5-6 on the year with a 3-2 win over county rival Galion.
In first singles, the Tigers’ Emma Ross defeated Hannah Scott, 6-1, 6-0. The Lady Redmen answered in second singles when Addy Young defeated Calista Robbins, 6-1, 6-0.
Galion’s Kadence Fairchild topped Adalyn Zornes in third singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Bucyrus sealed the match by sweeping the doubles matchups. Ella Moyer and Addy Rister blanked Aeris Young and Kenzie Bowman in first doubles, 6-0, 6-0. Second doubles went three sets, with the Redmen’s Adriana Clark and Sierra Frost getting past Ashley Franks and Taylor Henry, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.
With the loss, the Tigers fall to 3-11.
Bucyrus will entertain Willard next on Monday. Galion will travel to Pleasant.
