BUCYRUS — Student athletes at Bucyrus High School who were exposed to persons who tested positive for the coronavirus earlier in July have themselves tested negative.
As a result, the suspension of sports activities that was enacted last week has now been lifted.
The district issued the flowing official statement regarding the situation.
“Due to negative test results of students closest to the exposure, effective immediately we are lifting the shutdown for the following programs: boys’ basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, girls’ basketball, girls’ tennis, golf and volleyball.
“Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
“Please continue to help fight the spread by social distancing, wearing a mask in public, and disinfecting your hands frequently.”
The original suspension was to last through July 24.
