The Bucyrus Elks Lodge No. 156 has been the driving force behind one of the bigger cross country competitions in the area. The annual Elks No. 156 Cross Country Invitational will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Crawford County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 2.

This year’s field includes 23 teams from the area. Those competing include: Bucyrus, Buckeye Central, Buckeye Valley, Colonel Crawford, Crestline, Elgin, Elyria, Elyria Catholic, Genoa, Highland, Lakota, Lucas, Monroeville, Northmor, Mapleton, Mohawk, Pleasant, Plymouth, Ridgedale, River Valley, Norwalk St. Paul, Tiffin Calvert, Upper Sandusky, Willard and Wynford.

“This is by far one of the larger early-season cross country meets in the area,” said Athletics/Activities Director Rick Rawson. “I want to thank the Bucyrus Elks No. 156 for their support of our student-athletes and athletics programs.”

A meet of this size takes great support. Many volunteers from the Bucyrus and Crawford County community will be helping to make this year’s event great for the student-athletes, coaches and fans.
