The Buckeye Central nine stayed unbeaten on the season with a 3-1 win over Monroeville on Monday. On Saturday, the Bucks opened the season by sweeping a doubleheader from Fremont St. Joseph, 14-1 and 8-1.

Payton Phenicie earned Monday’s win on the mound with five innings of work. He struck out nine. Ethan Summers worked the final two frames for the Bucks.

Jacob Shade had a pair of hits for the Bucks and Cody Roberts and Tanner Zaebst each drove in runs.

The Bucks are scheduled to open the N10 campaign on the road Wednesday at Seneca East.
