In front of a jam packed house at Buckeye Central, the league-leading Bucks’ North Central Conference basketball championship was on the line as the Colonel Crawford Eagles travelled up State Route 602 for a late season match-up.
The Buckeye Central Bucks came out on top as victors, 52-47, to win the NCC championship outright with one game to go in the season.
Cade Kaple finished the game with a double-double grabbing 13 rebounds, as well as putting up 10 points for BC. Austin Wurm led all scorers in the game with 14 points, Sam Robertson contributed 12 points, and Stone Wurm aided the Bucks’ winning effort with 10 points.
With the win the Bucks improved to 19-2 on the season with a 12-1 record in the NCC. Buckeye Central will play at Bucyrus Friday in their final game of the regular season.
The Colonel Crawford Eagles were led by Todd Entenmann’s 13 points. Connor McCreary and Nate Klingenberger both added 11 points to the Eagles’ cause.
The Eagles now sit at a 16-5 regular season record and 10-3 in conference play. They will travel to Crestline to take on the Bulldogs Friday night.
